How We Prep Your Garage Floor for Maximum Durability
- Step 1: Surface Preparation – We start by photographing your existing garage floor and then use a walk-behind grinder to mechanically profile the concrete. Unlike power washing—which only cleans the surface—our grinding process creates a rough texture that allows the epoxy to bond permanently.
- Step 2: Precision Grinding & Crack Repair – After the main grind, we go over missed spots with hand grinders, focusing on corners, edges, and stem walls. We also open up cracks using a crack chaser to ensure they are fully repaired.
- Step 3: Dust Removal & Surface Cleaning – All dust and debris are vacuumed from the surface and joints, followed by an acetone wipe for a completely clean surface.
- Step 4: Crack & Joint Repair – We fill in all cracks using industrial-grade epoxy crack filler. If a large section of concrete is missing, we repair it using epoxy mortar for maximum strength.
